Removing Debris from Your Used Car's Condenser


Because of the condenser's location in front of the radiator and behind the grille, dirt, bugs and leave accumulate on its from cooling fins over time.  These wavy strips of aluminum are delicate and easily damaged on a used car, so clean them with caution.  Depending on the model of your car, you may be able to dislodge foreign matter with a soft brush inserted from below.  Raise the car on ramps or jack stands or roll under it with a dolly if possible.  Wearing safety goggles, gently clean the fins with the brush, rough brushing or hard blows can bend the,, impeding the condenser's efficiency.  

To clean the fins from above, insert a garden hose between the condenser and radiator and direct a stream of water through the fins from back to front.  Carefully straighten bent fins with long-nose pliers.  If your car is on its last legs and you need it towed away in a timely manner, call us today!
