Troubleshooting car window problems: There are two types of movable car windows - framed windows that are surrounded by a metal channel that guides the glass. Frameless windows are guided by a mechanism inside the door. Window-winding mechanisms vary too, but most operate on the same basic principle. If the window glass is misaligned, that is to say it is tilted too far forward or backwards, or positioned too tightly against an inner our outer edge of the channel, consider selling us your used car vs. dealing with the hassle of a repair! You can find the channel bolts to loosen on a central lift inside the car door in question.
Gently move the window to its proper position in the channel. Push the glass out to the weather stripping - if the glass has upper or lower stops, loosen the bolt in the stop, move the stop into position around the glass, and tighten the bolt. If this is an ongoing problem with your used car, it may be time to sell it. Remember, never force a stiff or jammed window as this can break the regulator.
